Snax - Trouble

The first 50 people to download through the defDrive store get a limited edition autographed photograph by the man himself and we’re giving away a specially made ring or text tone from our myspace player – he made it especially for you.

Recorded entirely by Snax in his basement studio in Berlin Germany, things get started with the definitive rallying cry of this year, 'Get In Trouble'. Homage to doing your own thing and shirking the drama, 'Trouble' begins with a stripped down beat, killer bassline, and Snax’s trademark tight vocals. Later, Snax is joined in the party with superstar friends Jamie Lidell, Ms. Le Bomb and Mark Boombastic as they all implore you to “Feel like it, feel like it...”

The next track, 'Don’t Wanna Get Over', showcases Snax’s more romantic side. An ode to unrequited love, this song is dedicated by Snax to “You... and you and you; I like to spread it around.” Care to join him?

Things become playful and innocent next with 'Tired Of Talk'. Here Snax is joined on vocals by American songstress G. Rizo (you'd remember her from her hot Gigolo Records release 'Eye Wanna See U'). Rizo and Snax deliver a sweaty summer smash, complete with Kinderspielplatz!

The playfulness segues into the last track 'Get Live, Snax' which begins with a loop of Snax hyping up the crowd when he opened up for the Scissor Sisters last spring. Vocals would only disturb the groove, so 'Get Live, Snax' highlights Snax’s chops on the keys and guitar, closing out the EP and making you yell “Encore!”

nice one - Laurent Garnier

I-DJ Magazine:
Bashed out with a little help from Jamie Liddell and friends in his Berlin studio, this is the equivalent of inviting your mates back to yours one pissed-up Friday night to fanny about on your Technics, only more productive. And how: ‘Get In Trouble’ is a riot of knockabout keyboards and lascivious funk a la ‘Dirty Mind’-era Prince. But it barely registers on the Purple-o-meter compared to ‘Get Live, Snax’. Meanwhile ‘Don’t Wanna Get Over’ and ‘Tired Of Talk’ are as tight and springy as his afro. Almost.
